helping to make a difference!
On Sunday March 14th 2010, the team at Bravien hosted a champagne breakfast and art exhibition to launch The Smith Family’s Government House Open Day Charity Event.

The team at Bravien also organised a private tour of Government House for our guests and helped take ticket sales on the front gate during the day. Bravien Financial raised $44,000, with a total of $70,000 raised from the event. Additionally, AMP Foundation contributed $10,000. However, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support and generosity of our clients, friends and associates - thank you!
Together with 200 volunteers from the community, there was a great deal of entertainment such as roving entertainers, Canberra City Band, National Capital Orchestra, Strangeweather Gospel Choir, Heritage Dancers, plenty of kids entertainment and activities, motor bike demonstration and show, and much much more.
The event also received media coverage from Canberra Times, City News, 104.7 FM, and news reader Jessica Woods was the MC for the Champagne Event Launch Breakfast that was hosted by Bravien Financial.
The Smith Family is a national independent charity that works to help disadvantaged Australian children. Bravien Financial has worked closely with The Smith Family for the last 5 years. The thing that we particularly like about the Learning for Life program and why we so strongly believe in supporting it is that it aims to break the cycle of disadvantage through education, mentoring and personal support. This theme aligns very closely to our own personal and Bravien Financials business ethos. Australia’s future is vested in its children and if we can help break the cycle of disadvantage it will ensure all children have the same opportunity to realise their potential.
